MEXICO EXCURSION: TOUR OF CHIAPAS AND YUCATAN, 7 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS

Included services are: breakfast at hotel restaurants, English-speaking guide throughout the circuit, entrance fees to all scheduled sites, double room hotel accommodations, and ground transportation in air-conditioned vehicles (sedan, minivan, or van depending on group size). Not included are any services not specifically mentioned, extra meals and drinks, and additional transfers or taxi services.
Day 1 – Arrival in Mexico City (or Cancun)
Upon arrival at Mexico City (or Cancun) International Airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel located in the downtown area. The rest of the day is free for a relaxing walk or personal exploration of the city center.
Day 2 – Mexico City / Tuxtla Gutiérrez / Sumidero Canyon / San Cristóbal de las Casas
After breakfast, take a domestic flight to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the capital of Chiapas. Upon arrival, enjoy a boat tour through the stunning Sumidero Canyon, where granite cliffs tower over the Grijalva River, some reaching over 1,000 meters high. Continue with a visit to the charming town of Chapa de Corzo, rich in local culture and traditions. In the afternoon, drive to San Cristóbal de las Casas, where you’ll check in at your hotel and enjoy free time in the historic center.
Day 3 – San Cristóbal / Zinacantán & San Juan Chamula / San Cristóbal
Start the day with a guided city tour of San Cristóbal de las Casas, including the Santo Domingo Church and the local market. Then, visit the indigenous communities of Zinacantán and San Juan Chamula. Explore a local family home, learn about weaving techniques, and discover traditional Chiapaneco handcrafts. End the tour with a visit to the unique Juan Bautista Church in San Juan Chamula. Return to San Cristóbal for free time.
Day 4 – San Cristóbal / Agua Azul Waterfalls / Palenque
After an early breakfast, depart for the spectacular Agua Azul waterfalls, a natural park of cascading turquoise waters nestled between Ocosingo and Palenque. After free time at the falls, continue on to Palenque, a small town located at the base of the mountains. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy the evening at your leisure.
Day 5 – Palenque / Campeche
In the morning, visit the archaeological site of Palenque, considered one of the most important Mayan cities in Mesoamerica. Explore impressive ruins including the Temple of Inscriptions, known for its detailed hieroglyphics and historical significance. After the visit, transfer to the colonial city of Campeche, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you’ll check in at a hotel located downtown.
Day 6 – Campeche / Uxmal / Mérida
After breakfast, head to the Uxmal archaeological site, a gem of the Puuc Route, where you'll visit La Casa del Adivino, colonnades, the two-headed jaguar, and the masks of Chaac. Continue to Mérida, the capital of Yucatán, for a guided city tour and check-in at your hotel. In the evening, enjoy free time to explore or dine in one of Mérida’s many traditional restaurants.
Day 7 – Mérida / Chichén Itzá / Riviera Maya
On the final day, visit Chichén Itzá, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Marvel at the El Castillo pyramid, the Temple of the Warriors, and the circular observatory “El Caracol”, which showcase the fusion of Mayan and Toltec architecture. After the visit, continue to the Riviera Maya for accommodations at the hotel of your choice.
